Roquebrun

Roquebrun can be best appreciated from the extensive river beach on the other side of the Orb. The village dominates the view and you can sit in the shade of the trees, whilst the kids go paddling and contemplate which of the restaurants and bars could offer you the best lunch. Our favourite is Le Petit Nice, which is also the nickname that has been given to Roquebrun over the years. This is a village that is built onto a steep hillside, so exploring the village is an up and down experience.

Take some time to visit the Mediterranean Gardens at the top of the village which has been created by local enthusiasts. There is a wealth of native plants here and you can usually buy a few pots to take away with you.

The Tuesday market is definitely worth visiting where good locally produced food is on offer together with the added attraction of caves for wine tasting. Roquebrun wines are generally excellent. Browse the market, have lunch and then swim from the river beach. Another great way to explore the river Orb is by kayak or canoe.
