Kayaking, Roquebrun
There are various places you can hire from but for a first attempt, try Tarassac. You can hire kayaks here to descend the Orb to Roquebrun, about 7km downstream. In the summer, you’ll be able to experience gentle, rippling water and shallow rapids. Great fun for all the family. If you’re not used to wielding a paddle then the Tarassac-Roquebrun route will be quite enough for one day. You can also hire kayaks from Roquebrun itself, near the campsite bordering the river. There are various lengths, departing from Ceps, Vieussan or Tarassac.
You can pack valuables into a watertight barrel which is then secured to the kayak. You can picnic at any of the little beaches along the route or wait till you get back to base - you'll certainly deserve it! You will get wet so be prepared. Shorts, T-shirts, swimmies and a pair of old trainers or watershoes are highly recommended. Be sure and wear a hat, sunglasses and lots of sun cream, especially on your legs.
Once you land in the picturesque hillside village of Roquebrun you can relax at it's pebble stoned river beach, stroll through the village or visit the Mediterranean Gardens.
