Citrus Festival, Menton

The Fete du Citron in Menton is the second most important event on the Riviera after the Nice Carnival and is even more important than the Monaco Grand Prix. More than 300 professionals work on the project and 145 tons of citrus fruits are used to the glory of the lemon. Carnival floats designed on a theme which changes every year parade through the town as all things citrussy are celebrated. Menton seems to love festivals; other important ones to put in your diary are the Tango festival, Classical Music festival and, in December, the casino gardens are given over to the Christmas festival.
