About Grande Villa de Cassis
This property is one of the largest and most prestigious on the French Riviera. Located in the Calanques National Park, it offers panoramic vistas on the Mediterranean Sea. This 600m2 former hotel, that once welcomed Virginia Woolf and Winston Churchill in the 1930s and 1940s, was completely renovated in 2017 to combine modernity, simplicity, comfort and technology. A vast 400m2 terrace offers breathtaking views onto the sea, accessible by foot in 5 minutes via a private path. The four sea view reception rooms and twelve bedrooms (9 in the main house and 3 in the annex) can comfortably accommodate up to 26 guests. The property has a large 13m heated swimming pool, an outdoor jacuzzi with sweeping sea views, a games room and a petanque court. Cassis is a typical old Mediterranean fishing port, just a few kilometres from Marseille. The village is known for its stony beaches and more particularly, its 'calanques'. The calanques are creeks surrounded by high cliffs and are blessed with extraordinarily azure blue and emerald waters. Most of the calanques are not accessible by land so the best way to see them is by boat from the port.
Cassis is a very popular tourist spot for anyone who wants to sample the southern French Mediterranean lifestyle.
There are many vineyards in the area specialising in the renowned vin blanc de Cassis.
There are great walks along the Cap Canaille with stunning sea views along the whole length of the walk.
We can arrange transfers from the main train stations and airports to the estate with 8-seater vans.
