Marseillan is a lovely port and a stopping point for those travelling along the Canal du Midi. Steeped in history Marseillan is possibly the oldest village in France. The area was originally settled by the Greeks more than 2500 years ago and was a very active Roman commercial centre.
With an old village it is still relatively unknown but once you know about it beware as you will want to keep coming back! There are about 15-20 places to eat, shops selling everything you need - boulangeries, pharmacies, greengrocers, fish, meat and everyday essentials (all within a short walk).
Travel a little further afield and you can visit the old port of Sete, historical Pezenas, Carcassonne, Aigues Mortes, riverside villages, mountains, gorges and sweet villages such as Bouzigues aptly named for a bouzy, fishy lunch.

Very Relaxing
We really enjoyed our stay at Marseillan Waterfront. Everything as described. Very comfortable, very relaxing. It was very warm on times but the air conditioning worked well. The wi-fi was excellent. The area is quite quiet but very friendly with a number of nice cafes and restaurants. Our particular favourite was Le Jardin du Naris, roughly 300 metres away. On arrival at Beziers airport there is a bus that goes directly to Marseillan, the bus stop being a five minute walk away from the apartment. This trip costs under two euros. And the return bus leaves Marseillan two and a half hours before the flight. Considering a taxi might cost 70/80 euros each way the bus is well worth considering especially if one is travelling without too much luggage. We didn't hire a car but used the local buses for journeys to Sete and Beziers. Both worth visiting. But for most other places a car would be needed. We would recommend this apartment.

Great apartment, great location, great service
The owner’s Overview above is typically detailed and accurate. Marseillan is a super place, and this apartment is brilliantly positioned to enjoy it, in a quiet street just round the corner from the cafes and restaurants of the Port. The apartment is clean, modern, well equipped - pretty well exactly as described. There is a manual with comprehensive information about facilities, together with a really useful guide to local dining and sightseeing. All you need for a great holiday. Plus the owner is extremely helpful and responsive to any queries. If only all holiday rentals were like this!

Beautiful apartment
We loved this apartment in beautiful Marseillan. It was perfect. Cleaned throughout and very comfortable beds, all equipment you would need for self catering and good quality. Sea view and felt very safe and secure. Quiet and peaceful. Perfect location and has al kinds of information about places to go and restaurant recommendations. Sunny terrace from early afternoon until late. The lady who looked after apartment was always available if we needed her for anything. No issues whatsoever. Would 100% Reccomend. We’ll be back next year
