Bagnols en Foret
Bagnols en Foret is an ancient hillside village, founded in the 11th century and which still maintains its traditional square with restaurants, local shops and a post office. There are a number of vineyards in the area. Bagnols en Foret is situated about 10 miles from the Riviera towns of Fréjus and St Raphael. Their palm tree-lined boulevards have many restaurants and shops alongside sandy beaches. These towns cater for those wishing to have a more lively nightlife.
There is a waterpark in Fréjus with a fairground and kart track, which would be a great day out with family or friends.
Port Fréjus, with its many large yachts and a variety of restaurants is also a popular evening destination. It sits midway between Cannes and St Tropez, so both are easily accessible by road or train. There is a regular ferry service in the summer from Fréjus Port to St Tropez Port.
Approximately 10 miles north of the village is Lac Cassien, a spectacular freshwater lake with pedalos and small sailing boats available – motor boats are prohibited. This lake is safe for swimming and has nearby restaurants on the lake shore.
