Le Lavandou

Le Lavandou, only 4km from Bormes-les-Mimosas, is a seaside resort and has fine sandy beaches and chic beach cafés. It has a busy yacht marina with fishing boats still plying their trade; a fish market is held there every morning. The seafront is thriving in summer with stalls along the promenade selling arts and crafts. There are many restaurants and the town is a-buzz well into the night. From the marina are regular ferry crossings to the islands of Porquerolles, Port Cros and Le Levant. There is an excellent market every Thursday morning. There is also a long sandy beach at La Favière (5km), which is the busy seaside area of Bormes, with marina, diving club and plenty of shops and restaurants. La Favière hosts a mimosa festival in February. La Favière has a market Saturday morning and Monday evening in July and August and is very lively for families during the summer months.
