The Old Farmhouse is as the name suggests; a beautiful renovated Catalan farmhouse, which has been redone very modernly whilst keeping its old character. This property is located on the banks of the river Tet, on the edge of Villelongue, only a few kilometres from wonderful beaches. One of this property's best features is the grounds, with over an acre of mature gardens and lots of activities for the whole family to enjoy, such as trampolining, badminton, boules, table-tennis and of course, a wonderful shared swimming pool.

About The Old Farmhouse

Mas de la Rivière is an Old Catalan farm set on the banks of the river Têt and in it’s own oasis of over an acre of mature gardens. It is on the edge of the village of Villelongue de la Salanque which is a quaint old French village totally untouched by the tourism that surrounds it.

At the Mas there are three houses: the owners' house built where the stables used to be, the original farmhouse and the converted pumphouse. They share the large grounds including the large swimming pool (13 x 7 m) with a spring board for diving into the 3m deep end. There is a shower room and laundry room for communal use in the grounds. There is a childrens play area including a 3.7m trampoline, a badminton/volleyball net and a pingpong table to entertain children as well as teenagers and the not so young. Our latest addition is a petanque pitch, the typical southern french game of boules. The mas is a very safe place for children as it is set well away from the road and there are plenty of safe gardens for them to play in.

Each of the properties however has its own patio with outdoor eating area, BBQ , lounge chairs etc..
All outdoor maintenance, daily pool cleaning, etc.. is taken care of by the owners. A Wifi signal for a broadband connection is available in both houses and by the pool for sending/receiving emails, checking flights etc.

This property has been recently renovated; it has kept all of its original character such as its original Catalan tiled floors, but with modern practicalities to give you everything that you will need during your stay. You will fall in love with this holiday home thanks to its quirky character, stunning exterior and bright and spacious rooms, all while being completely comfortable thanks to the cosy furniture and open fireplace.

OUTSIDE

There is a large swimming pool (13 x 7 m) with a spring board for diving into the 3m deep end; a shower room and laundry room for communal use in the grounds; a childrens' play area including a 3.7m trampoline, a badminton/volleyball net and a pingpong table to entertain children as well as teenagers and the not so young. The pretty village of Canet-en-Roussillon is only a couple of miles away. The location of the Mas is ideal as despite being in the heart of the country surrounded by farms and vineyards it is close to the sandy beaches of the cote Vermeille with the resorts of Canet and St. Marie just a few minutes away. It is also close to the cosmopolitan city of Perpignan (only a few minutes drive) and to all the major link roads to take you up to the mountains or down to Spain. There is a shopping center with a hypermarket just about 5 minutes away.
