Chardonnay Farmhouse is a very spacious gite situated in a working wine domaine. The entire estate offers accommodation for up to 40 guests across nine independent gîtes. Ideal for family gatherings, group events or weddings. Set within 120 hectares of private vineyards, olive groves and pine forest, where the gentle rhythm of a working winery shapes daily life, including private cellar tours and wine tastings. Each gîte has its own private terrace. Shared heated pool, tennis court and pétanque court. The whole estate can be hired privately, or individual gites. About Chateau de Canet - Chardonnay
Set between the Mediterranean and the Pyrenees, Château Canet is perfectly placed for discovering the rich history and natural beauty of the Languedoc. Just a few kilometres from the famous Cité de Carcassonne and within easy reach of the Cathar castles, the region is steeped in heritage. The long sandy beaches of Gruissan and Leucate are about an hour away, while the colourful seaside villages of Collioure and Banyuls can be reached in around 90 minutes.
The recently refurbished cottages offer both independence and the pleasure of staying together. Perfect for families! Set within 120 hectares of vineyards, olive groves and pine forest, the estate moves to the gentle rhythm of a working wine domaine. Vineyard walks, wine tastings and sweeping countryside views create a peaceful backdrop for a stay in the Languedoc. Each gîte features a private terrace — the perfect place to unwind and take in the surrounding landscape.
Outdoor spaces are designed for relaxed, sociable moments. A charming BBQ and plancha area overlooks the olive groves, ideal for casual meals and long summer evenings, while the estate’s beautiful courtyard provides a magical setting for dining al fresco beneath soft fairy lights.
For gatherings and special occasions, the estate also offers a variety of indoor and outdoor spaces. The Orangerie, a bright and elegant reception space with a built-in sound system, provides a welcoming setting for meetings, celebrations and private events.
The heated swimming pool, lined with loungers and umbrellas, invites slow afternoons under the southern French sun. A tennis court and pétanque court add to the relaxed outdoor lifestyle of the estate.
From morning coffee on the terrace to dinners beneath the courtyard lights, life here is shaped by the gentle rhythm of the Languedoc vineyards. Breakfast (croissants, baguettes etc) can be delivered to your door in the morning. Pizza delivery available.
There is also a communal catering kitchen with additional equipment not found in the individual gites.
The Aude département offers many hidden treasures, all of which are within one hour of Chateau Canet. For a wonderful day out, try Limoux (famous for its sparkling wines), Lagrasse (one of the prettiest villages in France), and of course, not forgetting le Cité de Carcassonne (UNESCO World Heritage site) which is an absolute must.

Layout
200m² and an ideal ‘home away from home’ for a multi-generational family, or 2 families whose children are friends or a group of friends.The large open plan kitchen with a fireplace and working pizza oven opens onto a comfortably furnished generous living room with a separate dining area. From here, a small corridor leads to a bedroom with a double bed and en-suite bathroom. On this floor here is also a guest WC and separate laundry room equipped with a washer and dryer.
The first floor is reached via a staircase leading up from the kitchen. The en–suite master bedroom, with a double bed (160cm x 200cm) has a high ceiling with exposed beams and looks into the inner courtyard. The “Dorm Room” has a great beam structure and magnificent picture window overlooking the vineyards and pine forests. There are 5 single beds (90 x 190) and a double king size bed. Kids will adore this bedroom! There is an en-suite bathroom with bath, shower, double sink, and separate toilet.
The kitchen and living room open onto a private north facing garden with a barbeque, dining and sitting area. A magical spot to sit and watch the sunrise with your ‘café au lait” or to enjoy a glass of a wine at sunset.
