La Villa des Lauriers is a highly popular rental property - and rightly so, since the owners have done everything they can to ensure their guests want for nothing during their stay. Mougins is a great village and the town centre, with a big choice of restaurants etc, is just a short walk. The villa also enjoys fab views of the Bay of Cannes. Heatable pool, air conditioning, boules court, table tennis and table football mean that the kids and teenagers will always have something to amuse them. The sophisticated town of Cannes is just 6km away and if you intend to fly to the south of France then Nice airport is only half an hour away. Highly recommended!
Don’t just take my word for it … see what our guests thought.
About La Villa des Lauriers
Villa des Lauriers is a stunning luxury villa located in Mougins in the Côte d'Azur, boasting superb accommodation with breathtaking views over the Mediterranean and bay of Cannes. Located within walking distance of the village of Mougins. There are 3 bedrooms to sleep 7 people (all with en-suite bathrooms), a private heated swimming pool, air conditioning, a table tennis table, a pool table, a boules court and more.
This villa is ideal for families and is set within a mature South-facing Mediterranean garden and offers breathtaking views over the Old Village (15 minutes walk away) and the Bay of Cannes. It is only 20 minutes from Nice Airport and 6km from the centre of Cannes.
The accommodation is arranged over two levels - at ground level, there is a fully equipped open-plan kitchen with dishwasher, living room and dining room, as well as the first Master bedroom from which French doors open out to a large terrace that links to the living areas. Upstairs, you will find the second Master bedroom which has two private balconies, as well as a third double bedroom. This property is air conditioned throughout.
The ground-floor Master bedroom has an en-suite bathroom and French doors which open straight out onto the terrace that overlooks the pool and gardens. (This room can be made up either as a double or 2 singles).
The upstairs Master bedroom has an en-suite bathroom and French doors opening onto two private balconies with superb views across to Mougins village and beyond to the Mediterranean Sea. There is a breakfast table on the East-facing balcony, ideal for catching the morning sun!
The double bedroom has an en-suite bathroom, adjacent to which there is a charming private dressing room which could accommodate another small child's bed.
There is plenty of space for a cot in either of the two Master bedrooms and there is also a fold-away child's bed. A cot and high-chair can be provided on request. There is a foldaway 'Z-bed', in addition.
There is a separate laundry room, as well as a well-equipped games room, making this a fantastic option for families with children and teenagers who would like to do more than just making the most of the beautiful private heated swimming pool.
The outside area is one of the many highlights of this villa - the terraced gardens are beautifully secluded and landscaped and include a private heated swimming pool, a pool house and a full-sized boules court. The views from the house and gardens to the Old Village with the Mediterranean sea and the Esterel mountains in the background are truly stunning.
By the pool is an outdoor shower and a pool house, which is equipped with WiFi, drinks fridge, sink, music player and seating area. The pool house and adjacent area get late sunshine and are wonderfully sheltered, making sunbathing still possible in cooler months.
There is a large decked area with a viewing gallery overlooking the boules court - the inspiration for the deck is the fabulous palm tree, which makes it the perfect place for relaxing in dappled sunshine on the outdoor lounge furniture.
The landscaping team created an area by the boules court to enjoy a game of outdoor table tennis amongst other games. They also added new flowerbeds and linking paths, completing the look with a formal garden in the top corner, featuring a semi-circular teak bench. This is a perfect area for a quiet coffee in the morning sun.
The pool and garden are both beautifully lit at night and all of these areas can be viewed from a large terrace which wraps around the house, where there is an outdoor dining table adjacent to the beautiful climbing bougainvillaea. There is a patio heater for cooler months and a choice of gas or conventional charcoal Weber barbeques. Dining on the terrace with the sun going down and the lights coming on in Mougins is always a delight.
Children are very welcome at Villa des Lauriers and there are plastic boules for the boules court and plenty of inflatables for the heated pool. The children (and young-at-heart adults!) will enjoy the games room, featuring a slate-bed pool table and lounge area with large flatscreen TV and Xbox One S games console and seating area for books and board games.

If you don't want to walk or drive yourself into Mougins then you can take an Uber taxi - very reasonably priced!
Thanks to excellent road links, it's only 20 minutes from Nice Airport, yet retains its peaceful village charm. It is only 6km from Cannes and the Mediterranean Sea and has a feel of being in the Provence countryside.
Mougins is centrally placed to explore the Côte d'Azur highlights of St Tropez, Cannes, Antibes, Nice and Monaco, not to mention the charming neighbouring villages of Grasse, Valbonne, St Paul de Vence, and Biot to name just a few close by. You will be close enough to day trip to Menton and the Italian border, Aix-en-Provence, the magnificent Gorges du Verdon, and the less touristy villages of the Northern Var and Gorges du Loup.
Mougins is also home to the 427 hectare National Parc de La Valmasque and Lake Fontemerle, giving it a semi-rural feel.
At a height of 260 metres, Mougins is beautifully maintained, its winding pedestrian streets filled with art galleries and over a dozen excellent restaurants. Pablo Picasso chose to spend his last 12 years here and his studio was in the Old Village in a building that is now the tourist office. Other famous people that have chosen Mougins to live include Fernand Léger, Jean Cocteau, Yves Saint Laurent, Winston Churchill, Édith Piaf. The Michelin starred Moulin de Mougins and the 5-star Mas Candille have cemented Mougins` reputation. Alain Ducasse and Roger Vergé have managed restaurants in the village and now famous chef, Denis Fetisson, owns two of our many wonderful restaurants.
Mougins is fortunate to have the excellent Musée de la Photographie, Musée d`Art Classique, and each year hosts the International Gastronomy Festival of Mougins in September.
Golf:
There are a dozen golf courses within 45 minutes of Mougins and within 5km of the villa, there are three excellent courses which can compete with anything in Europe.
There are courses to suit all budgets.
The closest course to the villa (5 minutes' drive) and one of the best around, is Cannes-Mougins, which has hosted European Tour events 14 times with winners including the late, great Seve Ballesteros. Green fees are €100- €120 per round and it is worth every cent!
Just the other side of the village is Royal Mougins, which is a very exclusive golf club with a course to match. Fees are €150-€175, but be sure to book well in advance as the club only allows limited numbers of non-members per day.
Only a ten-minute drive from the villa, is Saint Donat, on the road between Mouans Sartoux and Grasse. The green fees are only €79 which is fantastic value for money. The course is not long, but intricate and testing; it always seems to be in great condition. Others a little further away but well worth a mention include the famous Four Seasons golf resort of Terre Blanche, which has two championship standard courses; le Riou is the shorter, but tighter; le Château is over 7,000 yards and is a true test for any standard of player.
Also Château de Taulane, beyond Grasse into the mountains- a stunning Gary Player designed course (green fees are €100 per round), and then Monte Carlo golf club- set high above the principality of Monaco with the most breathtaking views of the area.

A Blissful Two-Week Retreat at Villa Oleander
Our time at the villa was truly unforgettable. The picturesque surroundings and the overall comfort of the villa made our stay exceptional. The villa's interior was cozy and tastefully decorated, providing a warm and inviting atmosphere. The outdoor area was equally impressive, and we spent countless hours by the pool and enjoying the stunning garden. Our teenagers, enjoyed their time immensely, and they wanted to make sure to highlight the playroom:) During our stay we found ourselves spending a significant amount of time in the kitchen. Whether it was preparing breakfests or dinners with fresh, local ingredients, or simply enjoying a glass of wine while chatting and cooking together, the kitchen played a central role in our daily activities. It truly enhanced our overall experience and added an extra layer of warmth to our stay. We were also pleasantly surprised by the thoughtful welcome gifts that awaited us upon our arrival. It was a lovely touch that made us feel instantly at home.
