Perched majestically on a hilltop surrounded by vineyards overlooking a tranquil Mediterranean lagoon Château Capitale is a magnificent estate and luxury sanctuary set in 200 acres of beautiful unspoilt countryside in the Languedoc, South of France.

Like the best French wines, the estate is an ‘assemblage’ – a destination that blends the best aspects of traditional holiday options : the facilities of a luxury spa hotel, the practicality of villa rental, the authenticity of a working wine estate and the relaxed-yet-attentive service of a private club.

A stay at Chateau Capitale, near Narbonne, demands no compromise : you can choose a stylish room in the 19th century Château or the space and independence of a luxury villa with magnificent views across the vines and lagoon.

The original Château has been transformed into an intimate four star boutique hotel with eight stylish rooms and suites, a prestige spa, a fine dining restaurant and a lively but laid-back bar and brasero restaurant

Full of character and contemporary luxury and inspired by local architecture, the 44 luxury self-catering villas in the hameau offer space and independence. Sleeping from 2 to 10 people and ranging in size from 90 to 220m², ideal for family holidays or gatherings with friends. Combining natural and reclaimed materials with a clever use of space and light, refined interiors take cues from both the aristocratic and agricultural heritage of the estate marrying the traditional and the modern : generous salons, high-spec kitchens, luxurious bedrooms with en suite bathrooms and superb fixtures and fittings throughout.

For families with older children, particularly teenagers, it is fantastic as nearby there are a multitude of water sports experiences available. There is now a dedicated spot for the Kids Club, a huge tent that has been set up as a refuge in the middle of nature. In addition to a workshop area, there's also a table soccer table.

The only two-bedroom villa in the hamlet with a private pool. The entrance is on the first floor, with one ensuite bedroom with bathtub and an office nook. A ground floor kitchen, living area leading to the terrace and the second ensuite bedroom with shower. The large bay window floods the villa with light and offers a beautiful view of the vineyards and the lagoon. Outside, a south-facing terrace with a dining area, sun loungers, an enclosed Mediterranean dry garden and a private heated swimming pool (from April to end of October) with retractable security cover.

NB: Not recommended for small children since the tyopography makes pushing a stroller difficult. Very suitable for older children and teenagers though.
