Almost hidden from view, located in the village of Mausanne and just 7kms from St Remy-de-Provence, with views from the rear of the property of les Alpilles, this is a luxuriously converted manor house dating back to the 15th century. The property which is steeped in 600 years of history, started life as a ducal residence and more recently has been a moulin,

In total there is 950sqm of living space, set in lush very well maintained terraced and landscaped gardens of around half a hectare. Not surprisingly, the property has been recently designated a site of special historical interest.

To the rear of the property there is a pretty Italianate pool of 13 x 5m with Jacuzzi, sunbathing terraces, herb garden and assorted arbours.

Two dining rooms, one of which is used for formal evenings. Cinema room with extensive library of films. Guest WC. Two kitchens, the main one with large breakfast bar is fully equipped with American fridge/freezer, dishwasher, three ovens, hob, espresso machine etc, the other is used by external staff. Laundry room. Large Hamman that can accommodate up to six very comfortably.

Third living room used as a TV room with extensive library. First double bedroom with 180cm bed, dressing room, outdoor terrace overlooking the courtyard and en-suite bathroom with bath, basin and separate WC. Second double bedroom with small living room, 140cm bed with terrace and en-suite bathroom with bath, basin and separate WC. LES ALPILLES
Les Alpilles are a small rocky range of hills in Provence, which stretch from the Rhone to the Durance rivers. The peaks of which are an imposing mix of bare limestone and scrub or garrigue, whilst the lower slopes and surrounding countryside are rich in olive groves, vineyards, cypress, pine, almond trees and sunflowers.

Above all else, what is particularly striking is the magical quality and luminescence of the light, which has been the inspiration of a host of painters, the most famous of which, being Vincent Van Gogh.

The region boasts some of Provence`s most famous tourist sites, such as the Roman ruins of Glanum, the medieval hilltop village of Les Baux-de-Provence and the stylish little town of Saint-Remy-de-Provence, which was the birthplace and home of Nostradamus.

Several pretty and typical Provencal villages encircle Les Alpilles; Maussane, Mouries, Fontvieille, Eygalieres, Le Paradou and Maillane. With stone built houses, clustered around Romanesque churches, open squares shaded by plane trees, fountains, charming cafes, restaurants and weekly markets -all have their own distinct character and charm.

Whilst further afield and yet all within easy striking distance, are, the papal walled town of Avignon, the Roman town of Arles, the spectacular Camargue, vibrant Aix-en-Provence and France`s second city the port of Marseille.
