Perched majestically on a hilltop surrounded by vineyards overlooking a tranquil Mediterranean lagoon Château Capitale is a magnificent estate and luxury sanctuary set in 200 acres of beautiful unspoilt countryside in the Languedoc, South of France.

Like the best French wines, the estate is an ‘assemblage’ – a destination that blends the best aspects of traditional holiday options : the facilities of a luxury spa hotel, the practicality of villa rental, the authenticity of a working wine estate and the relaxed-yet-attentive service of a private club.

A stay at Chateau Capitale, near Narbonne, demands no compromise : you can choose a stylish room in the 19th century Château or the space and independence of a luxury villa with magnificent views across the vines and lagoon.

The original Château has been transformed into an intimate four star boutique hotel with eight stylish rooms and suites, a prestige spa, a fine dining restaurant and a lively but laid-back bar and brasero restaurant.

For older children, particularly teenagers, it is fantastic since nearby there are a multitude of water sports experiences available. There is now a dedicated spot for the Kids Club, a huge tent that has been set up as a refuge in the middle of nature. In addition to a workshop area, there's also a table soccer table.

Full of character and contemporary luxury and inspired by local architecture, the 44 luxury self-catering villas in the hameau offer space and independence. Sleeping from 2 to 10 people and ranging in size from 90 to 220m², ideal for family holidays or gatherings with friends. Combining natural and reclaimed materials with a clever use of space and light, refined interiors take cues from both the aristocratic and agricultural heritage of the estate marrying the traditional and the modern : generous salons, high-spec kitchens, luxurious bedrooms with en suite bathrooms and superb fixtures and fittings throughout.

Outside you'll find large terraces with superb views over the lagoon and vineyards, planchas, rattan sun loungers and dry gardens planted with over 100 varieties of Mediterranean plants and shrubs. Many of the properties also feature swimming pools with retractable security covers, heated from end of May to end of September.

Les Ateliers are seven large light-filled villas, ideal for families of four, offering a magnificent view of the surrounding countryside and enjoy all-day sunshine. Two en-suite bedrooms - one with bath and one with shower on the first/second floor (except for villa n°18 which is all one level). Ground floor open plan kitchen / living area leading to a lovely south and south west facing terrace with an enclosed Mediterranean dry garden, a dining area and sun loungers.

NB: Not suitable for babies or toddlers since the terrain makes pushing a stroller impractical.
