A gorgeous renovated country mas (farmhouse) a 5-minute drive from the centre of the highly sought-after Provençal village of Eygalières, the mas is located in a verdant landscaped 12-acre garden filled with colourful flowers, lavender and olive trees - quintessential Provence!
The original part of the villa (the vaulted dining room) dates from the 16th century, and the living room dates from the 18th century. However, while keeping the ancient character, the new owners have added all the luxuries you could want, including whole house air-conditioning, a totally renovated and updated kitchen, comfortable beds, video surveillance, wifi and an on-site caretaker. By far one of the most beautiful and sought after villages in Provence, Eygalières is where many celebrities spend pleasant, undisturbed holidays far from the paparazzi on the coast. Located on the edge of the Alpilles, Eygalières offers fantastic views of sublime rocky outcroppings, and you can take a walk up to the ruins of the medieval village just off the main street.

This small village is home to well-heeled vacationers, as well as to French film and tv stars and other high wattage glitterati. (To give you an idea of the prestige of this little village, European royals live and visit here.) However the town has retained its low-key, old style ambiance, which is one reason it is so attractive to visitors. Eygalières is a real jewel in the area. Though tiny, it has cafés, restaurants, food shops, and one of the best outdoor markets in Provence, held Friday morning.
