This beautiful villa is situated in the historic old village of St Laurent de La Cabrerisse in the Languedoc. The village boasts restaurants and a new wine bar located in an attractive old house in the centre of the village, upgraded at enormous expense. The new wine bar will be selling wine from many of the local wineries and serving tapas. There is also an ice cream bar in what was once the old school house. This is very popular with all ages and makes a great place to sit down in the shadeand enjoy ice cream and coffee.
Saint-Laurent-de-la-Cabrerisse also boasts a large health centre, a Spar shop and a fabulous bakery where people drive from nearby villages to buy their acclaimedl croissants and bread.
This Luxury villa in the South of France is absolutely stunning and has everything that you will need during your stay.
We really enjoyed our stay here, a perfect base to explore the Cathar region. Well equipped, really useful notes (loved Gruissan beach) and it was great having our own private garden and small pool plus being able to use the large pool on site too. Felt a very safe environment for the children . Local village easily walkable (by road or along the river) and supplied everything we required.
Vineyard Villa has a lovely feel to it and is in a development of similar properties focused around a Bastide. The hotel and spa in the Bastide is separate to the villa but you can still use the facilities. The house has three lovely double bedrooms upstairs with a great view of the countryside. Downstairs is a big open plan lounge kitchen plus a further room with a double sofabed. There were five adults in our party and a small child. A cot was provided which had an excellent mattress, much better than we have seen at some supposedly prestigious hotels. Our little one loved the private pool in the garden and it helped make some great holiday memories. There is a point of contact in France for the stay, who lives locally. She made herself easily contactable by mobile telephone. To get the best from the holiday you should get out and about a bit and for that you will need a car. We saw very few buses outside or large towns or cities. If you have a car available the house is a great location to see sites in Carcassone, Narbonne and surrounding areas. Be prepared though, sometime a satnav distance can be misleading, check it is sending you on the quickest route and not the shortest or you will end up on country roads! We drove to see the grottoes of Les Canalettes and the walled village and castle at Villefranche de Conflet which is worth seeing but took much longer than we expected. There is a lot going on in the region, it is set up for tourism and if you can muster a few words of French you will be able to get by pas problem.
We had a great time at (this) villa! The villa was perfect for our family (6 adults + 2 small kids): lots of room, very nicely furnished and very comfortable. The lady who showed us the place was super friendly and helpful. We very much enjoyed the stay and we hope to be back!
