Le Domaine des Rossignols is situated right next to a little nature conservation area so you'll definitely get to hear rossignols (nightingales) and a host of other birdlife during your stay. But it's also just outside a village offering most services and amenities including a bar, a boulangerie, two butchers and a small supermarket. The key word for this property is 'spaciousness' and you'll be surprised at the size of the living area, the gamesroom and the grounds at your disposal. Highly recommended, especially for family groups.

A former wine-producing domaine surrounded by vineyards, this chateau has been lovingly restored and offers 5 large bedrooms all with en-suite facilities. You will love the spaciousness and comfort this property offers along with characterful living spaces combining old features with all modern comforts. With views over gardens and vineyards from all bedrooms, you will be guaranteed a peaceful stay in this beautiful conservation area.

Enter from the front driveway into a huge open plan living/dining area with wood-burning stove and massive old beams. Sofas and armchairs create a comfortable sitting area. The dining table can seat 10-12 with ease.

The kitchen is located just off this area and is fully-equipped with a 6 ring burner gas hob and electric oven beneath, American style fridge/freezer plus additional under-counter fridge, microwave, coffee machine, double Belfast sink, dishwasher and washing machine/drier. There is also a bar/casual dining area formed around a glass table and wine barrels.

Upstairs you will find a large games room/landing with snooker/pool table, table tennis, darts board, exercise mat and free standing weights.

There are 5 double bedrooms, all with en-suite facilities and air conditioning.

Outside, there is a choice of dining areas - either on the poolside terrace adjacent to the barbecue area with barbecue, plancha, mini fridge and pizza oven, or the shaded gravelled area adjacent to the kitchen. The surroundings are peaceful, secluded and not overlooked.

The swimming pool overlooks the garden, is tiled and of varying depth. It is a chlorine pool. On the terrace you will find plenty of loungers and a shaded area.

Bedroom 3: Large master bedroom. Superking sized bed. Large private terrace, ideal for breakfast or private sunbathing. Ensuite with large bath, shower/wet area, WC and washbasin.
Bedroom 4: Superking sized bed. En-suite with shower and washbasin. Views across garden and internal courtyard. Separate WC.
Ground floor:-

The property is conveniently located just outside a lovely village with all the amenities you might need for an enjoyable and relaxing stay. At just a 3 minute drive or a 10 minute walk (uphill) you will find a bakery, 2 butchers, 2 mini-markets, a bar, and a pharmacy.

The Canal du Midi, a world heritage site, is situated 1 mile away and there are a number of well-regarded restaurants along the canal which can be accessed by cycling along the towpaths, by boat or by car. If cycling is your thing but you prefer the road then this is the place to be. With the Tour de France often passing through the area in mid July you will find that the roads here are second to none for cycling whatever level you enjoy it at. Secure cycle storage is available whether you choose to bring your own bike or hire locally. Should you prefer mountain biking, there are miles of woodland trails in the area with routes graded for ability in nearby Saint Chinian. Similarly, there are walking trails if you prefer to go by foot.

If a high adrenalin activity is what you’re looking for, there are a host of opportunities within easy striking distance of Saint Privat such as kayaking at Roquebrun or jet skiing, jet boating and paddle boarding at Gruissan plage, Narbonne. At the other end of the spectrum, there are daily markets throughout the region along with wine-tasting at the many ‘caves’ in this wine-rich region.

Our adjacent conservation area boasts a wealth of wildlife - some of our regular ‘feathered’ visitors - many of which nest here - include hoopoes, nightingales, golden oriels, bee-eaters, redstarts, wagtails, kingfishers, along with a number of stunning birds of prey which can be seen soaring overhead.
