Lamalou Les Bains

Lamalou les Bains is within the High Langudoc National Park with walking, trekking and spectacular scenery. It has long been a popular spa town and its chief claim to fame in the 21st century is the number of clinics and re-education centres that abound here. There are many vineyards to explore in the area including the Faugeres and Saint Chinian appelations. All amenities are available in town including two bakeries, chemist, supermarket, post office, banks, cinema and twice weekly markets on Tuesdays and Saturdays. There are a variety of restaurants within easy walking distance – pizzerias, local hotels and small family restaurants.  

This mountainous region is well known for its wine-making, historic buildings and outdoor activities. Locally, there are wineries, restaurants, golf, markets, festivals, nature trails, old church ruins and plenty of cultural activities. Another favourite is kayaking or swimming on the River Orb.
