Customer Reviews

  • Mas de Cotton is large and lovely property, ideal for a large / extended family holiday. The village of Cavillargues is larger than you might expect: the boulangerie is only 50m away and there is a general shop, boucherie and a pharmacy with very helpful people in it. The local restaurant is closed until April 2021. The villagers are friendly, many of them seem to be older retired folk. The property is well maintained: it's very secure with an enclosed courtyard with plenty of space for cars. There's lots of room, downstairs much more than you need if visiting in the summer when you'd spend most time outside anyway. Upstairs the large airy bedrooms with their own bathrooms lead off one long impressive corridor. The outside eating area is especially pleasant with an overhead canopy to provide shade. The kitchen is fully equipped and the two fridges are especially useful. wifi is excellent, but because the walls are so thick it doesn't extend beyond the living area. We didn't use the TV (no English speaking channels) or the pool room. The unheated swimming pool is very good, but doesn't have a shallow end: the steps and ladders into it are steep. There are plenty of sunbeds and parasols, and a very pleasant shaded seating area. The children (6-17) and younger adults loved it. There is an excellent BBQ. There is a very good new supermarket 15mins away. The owner, M. Joe is very helpful: he speaks limited English but with our rusty French we managed. There were 10 of us (one dropped out due to virus restrictions) aged 6, through teens and 40s to 72. Some flew to Nimes, others drove down through the Loire and Dordogne. We all loved it and wished we could have stayed longer which we could have done because our successors cancelled abruptly because of the virus, but alas booked flights and ferries, quarantine requirements and the beginning of school terms beckoned.

We had a fantastic time staying at Mas de Cotton. The villa was plenty bigger enough for our needs (we were a party of 12 : 6 adults and 6 children ). The whole house was set in lovely and secluded grounds and the layout provided a wonderful safe space for the children to run around, play and swim. The pool area was particularly outstanding with lots of space and it's own pool house. the owner was also very helpful and dropped in several times during our stay. Although the pool was unheated it was a bit cool in the mornings but got up to a lovely temperature during the day. We would highly recommend this villa and would definitely stay again.

  • "I just wanted to say what an amazing week we had at Mas du Cotton. Joseph Lesbugues was the most fantastic help and obviously cares passionately about the house and its visitors. It was immaculately clean and we had a superb week. We wouldn't hesitate to recommend it to anyone else."
