Alix’s house in Poilhes is fabulous! It is both incredibly hip and incredibly comfortable — and those two things aren’t always compatible! Our family of four adults loved every single minute we spent within its walls. And while we only had one week to enjoy its peace, quiet, and absolute artistic vibe, we could not have been happier.
Things to know: If you want to cook, this kitchen has every cooking implement you could ever need. If you want to listen to music, the DVD collection is completely comprehensive. If you forgot to bring a book, Alix has shelves full of fabulous tomes both long and short. If you want to paint, sketch or meditate, the secluded balcony is all you’ll need. If you want to do laundry, there’s a washing machine. If you want to recover from news overload, you’ll not miss the internet. And if you’re into ethnological arts, Alix’s house is adorned by exciting artifacts which will remind you daily that you’re in a uniquely special house.
Oh, yes, this is a rave review for Alix’s house. We will be back!
" The property description and photos were accurate and it is how I expected. Very cute and homely. Reasonable value for money for the time of year. We were happy with the cleanliness as well. The booking procedure and service from SFHV was personal and helpful. "

POIL101 - The photos were good and property even better in reality - which is the perfect way to do it! Our expectations were exceeded. Info provided beforehand and in the house was more comprehensive than anything I have experienced before. Booking procedure was excellent throughout. We’ll certainly check back with Juliana next time we can afford a holiday in France. Thanks
We very much enjoyed this holiday and would recommend Alix's House and the village of Poilhes to anyone looking for that type of vacation. That is, quiet, relaxed French rural life, off the main tourist trail (if you don't count the Canal du Midi as a tourist trail). Having said that, Poilhes is very well endowed with restaurants (3) for a place of its size. I guess we have the Canal du Midi to thank for that. 'J Remnant, Summer 2013'
There's no more information that would've been helpful - the owners are very generous with their knowledge of the area.
The property was good value for money.
The impression of the cleanliness of the property on my arrival was very clean.
The booking procedure and service were excellent, extremely helpful with swift response to our queries.
We loved this little cottage and the village location, away from it all. The cottage is decorated tastefully, it is clean, comfortable and well equipped.
South France Holiday Villas were great agents.
