The historic town of Beziers is only 15 minutes drive away and has many restaurants to suit all tastes.
The house is about 25 minutes from Beziers - Cap d'Agde Airport and about an hour from Montpellier-Méditerranée Airport, Perpignan - Rivesaltes Airport and Carcassonne Airport.
The local area is amazing, close to the Haut-Languedoc Regional Park with white picturesque villages and stunning views ideal for hiking or cycling. There are many possibilities for kayaking and canoeîng, white water rafting, caving (amazing stalactites!), climbing etc in the area. Along the Orb river are many small river beaches, Réals is closest to Murviel-lès-Béziers but other great options are Cessenon-sur-Orb, Roquebrun and Vieussan.
Mediterranean beaches are about a 30 minutes drive away. Valras Plage is ideal for families with many things to see and do for young and old. Portiragnes Plage, Serignan Plage and Vendres Plage are quieter with the odd beach bar, campsites and further simply miles upon miles of sandy beaches.
There are also several UNESCO World Heritage Sites in the area such as the Pont du Gard, the Canal du Midi and Carcassonne's old walls and castles. Well worth a visit! The Cathar castles are also very interesting, as are the villages of St. Guilheim-le-Désert and Aigues Mortes, dating back to the Knights Templar.

We are Nick and Carrie, an English family of four who just love France. We have two children, Henry aged 13 (horrible!) and Hattie aged 1 (less horrible!) We have lovingly restored this house and hope you enjoy it as much as we do. x

Clint S. - September 2019
Lovely property, clean, spacious & very well presented (huge, comfortable beds). Nick & Carrie could not have been more accommodating. Great location amidst wine country, a few good local shops & very short drive to 2 supermarkets. We had a great time & highly recommend you book your next holiday here.

Our three generations were privileged to stay in this lovely, warm, generous and characterful house, so well described in many of the other enthusiastic reviews. There is plenty of space inside for eating together or seeking respite from the sun in quieter and noisier pursuits. The children loved the Xbox, our PS4 and many games, particularly Linkee, which all of us could play.
The large marble terrace has plenty of shade and seating areas, with a great barbecue.
The pool is perfect, warm, saline, lots of shallows for children and enough depth for swimmers. The poolside "lean too" was perfect for childrens' stone painting and watching the geckos chasing moths attracted by the lights at night..
We loved watching the swallows skimming the pool in the morning, joined by the bats at dusk, stunning sunsets, star gazing, pool light shows, hummingbird hawk moths feeding on the terrace flowers, all the cats and kittens and hearing the rival out of sync church bells.
This quirky village also has an interesting cast of "Petetas", life sized straw and cloth figures representing traditional village life, found everywhere, including the lady on the bathroom balcony. Our children were intrigued and soon created scenarios ,sweet "Tom's Midnight Garden" style to scarier ones, horror/ Sci. Fi. inspired which we discouraged!
Venturing out provides loads of activities, both nearby and further afield, from walking to the boulangerie, to rock jumping, river swimming, canyoning, kayaking, go-karting, scuba diving, trotinettes (beware!) as noted in the house book.
Carrie responded patiently and promptly to our queries through an enjoyable correspondence (for us, anyway!)
We thought a floor plan might help both parties when allocating bedrooms/bathroom use ?
