About La Maison de Cambieure

La Maison de Cambieure is a modern and beautifully decorated 3 bedroom property, located in the Aude region of the Languedoc. The villa is built to a high standard and offers great facilities, such as a large heated private swimming pool (8x4m) and a good-sized gated lawned garden. The villa offers free internet access, UK sky TV and an Xbox for the kids. Surrounded by vineyards and sunflower fields, La Maison de Cambieure offers an ideal combination of a relaxed and active holiday. Whether you like all day sun by the pool or a shaded area to relax and read a book, this villa has it all.

The kitchen is fully equipped with a gas hob, a double electric oven, a microwave, all utilities including a kettle, coffee machine and a fridge/freezer. There is also a summer kitchen equipped with a large fridge/freezer and an ice-making machine.

The living room is a very comfortable space, with a six-seater settee (plus chairs), UK Sky Sports and movie channels, an Xbox and a DVD player. There is also a conservatory area with a six-seater dining table and chairs, as well as a further settee and chair.

All rooms in this house are air-conditioned, including the 3 bedrooms (King, Queen and a twin). There are 2 bathrooms (one with a bath, WC, sink and shower, the one with a shower and WC).

The outside area is comfortable and welcoming, thanks to the private heated swimming pool (8m x 4m). The lawned garden is a dream for kids and there is an outdoor BBQ area with a gas Weber BBQ, perfect for an evening spent eating al fresco under the stars.

The Villa is situated in a small residential village of Cambieure in the countryside just outside the town of Limoux, 25 minutes from Carcassonne. It is only a few minutes drive to the centre of Limoux with all amenities including great restaurants, cafe bars and local produce shops. There is an excellent restaurant called Domain Gayda within 2.5km of the house, with wine tasting and tapas. Supermarket and all amenities 5 minutes drive.
Bar and restaurant in the next village 1.5 miles

The town of Limoux dates back to the 14th century. It is located in the countryside on the banks of the Aude river, 24 miles to the South of Carcassonne. Limoux is the hub of production of 'Blanquette', a sparkling wine made using the 'méthode champenoise'. A delightful substitute for Champagne at a fraction of the cost.

The beautiful beaches of the Mediterranean are about one hour away. Carcassonne, with its famous castle and Canal de Midi where boats can be rented, is less than half an hour away. The stunning Pyrenees are an hour away and offer an abundance of activities such as skiing and white water rafting.

Closer to home, the beautiful towns of Mirepoix and Limoux are perfect examples of traditional french towns full of history, amazing architecture, weekly markets and fantastic bars and restaurants. This area has everything.

Carcassonne is within easy reach and absolutely not to be missed. The fortified city is host to a huge range of cafés, bars, restaurants and summer concerts and festivals including medieval jousting and spectacular 'sound and light' shows with fireworks.

25 minutes drive from Carcassonne with its unmissable citadel and summer cultural events for all ages.

    We had a fantastic 2 week holiday in Cambieure. Booking and communication with the owner were excellent. The villa is very easy to live in and there was plenty of space for 5 adults. We appreciated the range of outdoor seating areas for different times of the day and the pool is exceptionally clean and well maintained. Temperatures were in the 40s so the efficient aircon was invaluable. There are lots of places to visit within half an hour and so many wine domaines to try. We rarely visit the same place twice but this is a villa, and area, to which we would return.

    a good rest

    The property itself is large enough for 4 adults and has all the necessary facilities(eg kitchen equpment bed linen etc) for an easy stay. The one restriction is the bathrooms. There is one well equipped bathroom adjactent to the two bigger , double bedrooms. The other comprises just a shower and toilet. It lacks a bath and wash hand basin and is located adjacent to the downstairs utility room and a smaller twin bedroom. The big asset of the property is its garden, which has a decent size unheated swimming pool, a large heated jacuzzi , a Weber barbeque and plenty of comfortable outdoor seating, some under a canopy ideal for inclement weather. The slight disappointment was the isolation of the property. We had expected it to be rural but had imagined it to be closer to village amenities. Instead we found that we needed to drive everywhere, even for bread in the mornings. Nevertheless, we enjoyed our week there. I would also like to compliment the owner: we originally booked in 2020 but had to postpone twice owing to covid restrictions. The owner honored our booking, our originally deposit and did not inflate the pricefor inflation. It is good to deal with trustworthy people.

  • Relaxing break in Cambieure

    House is very well equipped and has everything you need for cooking, entertainment and relaxing. Gardens are well kept have different areas for dining, shaded areas and a covered veranda which is great at night for sitting out. Good size pool with plenty of pool gear. locally there are great restaurants, we loved Gayda which is close by. Day trips to Mirepoix and Carcasonne are a must. Karl the owner is helpful and great to deal with. Stayed for one week and sorry we didn't stay for two.
