Villa St Jean is a wonderful villa located in Saint Jean de la Blaquière, 6 kilometres East of Lodève in the Hérault, Languedoc.
The property is very spacious with a private heated swimming pool, located in a very quiet and picturesque village only 35 minutes from the beach.

Enter the property into a large double lounge/dining room (8.8m x 6m) boasting comfortable seating of 2 leather sofas and 2 armchairs. There is a 32" LCD TV & DVD player on one side, a coffee table with a separate reading area and an additional formal dining area (with 8 seats) with leather seating throughout. There are large French doors that open onto 3 areas, 2 of which are the large patio and swimming pool. In this room, there is also a computer desk, notebook, printer & wireless broadband internet, as well as a stereo for iPods and MP3 players.
The kitchen is a new light oak contemporary kitchen complete with granite tops, an integrated oven, an induction hob, a dishwasher, a washing machine, an American fridge/freezer with cold filtered water and an ice maker. There is a microwave combi oven, a Dualit toaster and a breakfast table with seating for 6 people.
On the ground floor, you will find the first bedroom which is complete with a double bed, an en-suite shower and basic, air-conditioning and fantastic views.
The second bedroom has twin beds, and en-suite shower and basin and also fantastic views.
The third bedroom is located on the first floor and is equipped with a double bed, an en-suite bathroom and dressing room. The fourth bedroom is also on this floor and has a double bed, en-suite bathroom and dressing room.
There are two foldaway beds so the villa could sleep 10, if required.
There is a downstairs WC between bedrooms 1 & 2. Upstairs, there are two large en-suites with bath inc. shower, toilet and vanity units with some storage and a heated towel rail.
The property is surrounded by a small garden mainly to the rear with exquisite views of old olive trees and vineyards, with a south facing patio/decking area and heated swimming pool. The swimming pool measures 7m x 3.5m and has solar heating & lighting. It has a break-water alarm fitted when not in use, for child safety.
Property grounds are 700m2. There is private parking for four vehicles on the grounds, with a private driveway leading up to the property.
There is a Weber gas barbecue for a wonderful al fresco meal on the hardwood patio table and chairs (6). There are Lafuma Zero gravity recliners by the pool.
The swimming pool is solar heated (new vac tube type) and has a break-water alarm fitted when not in use for child safety. The pool measures 7m x 3.5m with heating & lighting. Steps into the pool.

Very spacious and sunny villa with pool, just 25 minutes north west from Montpellier medieval city centre and 30 minutes from the beaches. The house is located in a very quiet and picturesque village called St Jean De La Blaquiere, located approx. 8km from local amenities in Lodeve and A75.
In the village is a bar/restaurant, bakery and post office. It is a 5-10 minute drive to supermarkets and the town of Lodeve for more choice of shops and restaurants.
It is conveniently located 35 minutes drive from Beziers airport or 45 minutes from Montpellier.
The property is in an area of outstanding natural beauty, very close to Lac de Salagou, St Guilhem Le Desert, St Saturnin (Famous book ‘Virgil’s Vineyard) and Cirque de Navacelle. There is a wide selection of beautiful country walks and local horse riding. Property completed in June 08.
Bezier 50 km, 35-40 minutes (Bristol & Stansted). Montpellier 70 km, 1 hour (Bristol , Stansted, Manchester). Perpignan 120km, 1 hour ( Bristol S,hampton). Nimes 120 km, 1 hour (Luton). Avignon 185 km (Exeter).
Lodeve 10km. Pezenas 25km. Grotte de Clamouse (great caves) and St Guilhem le Desert 25km. Lac de Salagou 8km. Montpellier 60km. Beaches 40km / 35 mins.
Lodeve is town with approximately 8000 residents, and is 10km from villa where all the local amenities are available.

There is a glorious cathedral in Lodeve, markets, a museum, many shops and restaurants. It is a lovely town to visit.

Why this location?
Back in 2005 I met up with a friendly lady called Sally who lived locally in Lodeve. I was on the quest to find the best location in the area to build a property with the most spectacular views, 'A task too great', you might say. Well, I looked in Portugal, Croatia and last of all, in the Languedoc and have not regretted it one bit! It was more work than expected and I had the usual problems with builders, but eventually found a little place in heaven. If I had the choice, I would spend more time there, where the climate is great and the relaxed pace of life helps you recharge your batteries. I still think it is the most lovely part of this beautiful country.
What are the unique benefits of the property?
The villa is in a great location with amazing panoramic views, easy to reach from most airports, with excellent roads. Quiet village location, within easy reach of local amenities. Fantastic places of interest within a few miles and wine and food to die for. The property has some nice touches with paintings done by my family, together with tasteful furnishing and comfortable seating. It is nicely designed with large open areas, a fantastic kitchen and comfortable dining area. The neighbours are very quiet and privacy is assured. The pool is solar-heated and open views towards fields and olive trees await you.
