About Le Logis du Sacristain
Delightful, elegant one-bedroomed apartment with terrace located in the centre of Béziers. The perfect venue from which to explore this ancient town's delightful history and ambience, or to spend the day at the beach just half and hour away. Also easy access to the rugged uplands of the High Languedoc National Park.
The apartment is to be found in a building dating back to the Middle Ages just across the square from Saint Nazaire cathedral. You will enjoy what is possible the best view of the cathedral in the whole town from the salon. In addition, the terrace is probably the highest in the whole of Béziers so you won't be overlooked. Entirely renovated and decorated in the 'Grand Siècle' style.
This 50m² apartment offers one bedroom with double bed 140cm and high quality linen, a shower room, terrace, Wifi, television, kitchette with toaster, a large salon/dining room, and a boudoir/games room.
Towels, linen etc provided.
On arrival, you will find a small welcome basket offering toiletry products, lavender oil, a bottle of rosé wine, bottled water, tea and coffee.
Be sure to visit the flower market, textile market and food markets on a Friday morning. After a long trek around the many stalls and with a basket burdened with fresh cheese, locally produced fruit and veg, several different sorts of olive and - of course - some wine, take a well-earned seat on a restaurant terrace and enjoy something long and cold to drink, possibly with an excellent seafood lunch to accompany it.
Béziers has a strong Spanish influence which culminates in the famous Féria of August. Non-aficionados of bullfighting can still soak up the exciting and busy atmosphere of Féria week when the whole town lights up at night with equestrian shows, medieval jousting and many other fun things to do, eat and drink!
Visit the Nine Locks (Les Neuf Ecluses) just outside the town. This UNESCO World Heritage Site has recently been developed and improved so you can now enjoy an excellent 3D film show explaining the history, trials and tribulations involved in the building of the Canal du Midi. The Canal, built in the mid 17th century, was an audacioyus project to join the Mediterranean with the Atlantic. Its architect and chief engineer, Pierre-Paul Riquet, is honoured in the town.
