About La Libellule
Situated in the heart of the beautiful Languedoc countryside and furnished to an exceptionally high standard throughout, this old stone priory near Uzès is a true delight.
The stone baths and stone walls throughout compliment the designer décor, making for a comfortable living environment which is accentuated by the underfloor cooling system, king size beds and state-of-the-art professional kitchen. The luxury of the interior is matched by the exterior, with the private infinity pool looking across the vast farmland and vineyards which surround the villa. What a treat it is to stay here in this pretty hamlet in the midst of such tranquil countryside, whilst only being a short drive from the village of Montaren with its bakery, shops and restaurant, as well as the famously charming town of Uzès.
This part of the Languedoc-Provence border in the Gard has so much to offer. The quaint, cobbled streets of nearby Uzès come to life during the Wednesday and Saturday morning markets throughout the year, where you can find some of the region’s finest produce. The golden stone of the old town buildings install an authentic charm, whilst the medieval garden, with its 450 varieties of plants, is a delightful green retreat. Further afield, the city of Nimes is equally famed for its rich cultural heritage. Its amphitheatre, widely considered the best preserved in France, dates back thousands of years and still hosts a range of music concerts and cultural festivals to this day. To the north of the city, the Archaeological Museum boasts one of the richest collections of artefacts in France, whilst the Fine Arts Museum is home to some of the country's greatest works. You certainly will not be short of things to do during your stay at La Libellule.
