The house is located in the charming wine village of Cruzy to the west of Narbonne and Beziers.
A delightful 2 minute walk from the rear of the property brings you to the centre of the village with a market square, baker, butcher, grocer, pharmacy and cafe–tabac.
The village benefits from Le Terminus restaurant which has a large garden area ideal for children and the well-known Auberge de la Croisade on the Canal du Midi.
It is a 10 minute drive to a large Intermarche supermarket in Capestang or the celebrated Sunday market town of St Chinian.
If you tire of the pool nearby Roquebrun offers a safe river adventure for canoeing and swimming or head for one of the many Mediterranean sandy beaches in easy reach such as Gruissan or Valras..

Superb, child friendly beaches within a 30 minute drive, all with waterside restaurants and cafés.
The lively town of Beziers which is especially vibrant in August for the annual Feria, a 5 day long festival. Perhaps the best flower market in the south of France on Fridays in the beautiful tree-lined main boulevard. Lots of fascinating shops in the little cobbled lanes in the old town.
Lovely walks along the nearby Canal du Midi - this international heritage site links the Atlantic and Mediterranean coast. Beautifully shaded tow-paths ideal for walking or cycling with many cafés and bars dotted along the banks or many opportunities to take a boat ride or rent one of your own.
St Chinian – lively town with super Sunday morning markets, well worth a visit.
Roquebrun (called "Little Nice"), a gorgeous medieval hilltop village with a bathing river. Mediterranean garden to visit right at the top of the village.
Carcassonne – a medieval town with its exceptionally well preserved citadel and walled town only 40 minutes away.
Pezenas – City of Molière with quite exceptional old world charm and architectural heritage. Numerous arts and crafts shops and workships open to the public and a popular extensive Saturday market.
Haut-Languedoc Regional Nature Park consists of gorges, the Lac de Salagou and is a beautiful area only 30 minutes drive away, with its stunning gorges and superb walking, hiking, river rafting, watersports and carp fishing.
Bassin de Thau – a calm inland sea teeming with fish. A breeding place for oysters and shellfish, producing over half the oysters consumed in France. Ideal for windsurfing and sail boarding. Villages, such as Bouzigues and Meze, have many restaurants serving sumptuous platters of fresh shellfish.
Cap D’Agde and Gruissan – these two towns offer everything you might wish from the Mediterranean. Both have fun water parks and offer a range of water sports and sailing opportunities with lovely clean beaches nearby. Other quieter beaches are not far away for those who prefer some privacy.
Local walks – whether you like an easy stroll in the countryside or something more adventurous there are walks nearby to meet your needs. Area also very well suited for cycling.
Golf courses nearby at Béziers (St Thomas) and Cap d'Agde.

This large house has 400m2 of living accommodation over two floors and has been extensively modernised but retains many original features.
Enter through the front door into an impressive hallway with terracotta tiles, chandeliers and lovely sweeping staircase.
Off the hall is a comfortable lounge with a sofa and 2 armchairs, a large TV with satellite channels, a DVD player, plenty of English books and tall windows overlooking the avenue.
Further along the hall is the principal open plan living area with kitchen which has a central island and breakfast bar, electric oven, grill and 4 gas hobs, a microwave, dishwasher, fridge and a double sink, stepping up to the dining/lounge area where there is a table to seat 8, a sofa, 2 armchairs, TV, video player, music centre and a log fireplace. Double doors lead out onto the terrace and the pool area.
On the other side of the hall is a utility room with a large fridge freezer with drinks/ice dispenser, a sink and a separate WC with basin as well as a storage area for the sunbed cushions and pool accessories. A door leads out to the terrace and stairs lead down to the garage.
There is a children’s playroom with futon to sleep a nanny or au pair as well as a couple of storage areas.
The staircase leads to the first floor and the 4 bedrooms, all of which are very large and have their own ensuite facilities.
Bedroom 1 has 2 single beds, wardrobes, a fan and windows overlooking the pool and countryside. The ensuite has a shower, basin and WC.
Bedroom 2 has a double bed, lovely views onto the pool and countryside, fan and an ensuite with bath, large walk in shower and basin and a separate WC.
Bedroom 3 has 2 single beds, balcony windows overlooking the avenue, a fan, and an ensuite with a bath, basin and separate WC.
Bedroom 4 has a double bed, wardrobes, balcony windows, a fan and an ensuite with walk-in shower, basin and separate WC.
The exterior of this property has everything you could possibly need for a very enjoyable holiday with pool, several terraces and plenty of areas for people to spread out and each find a quiet area for sunbathing or reading or for playing games with the children.
There is a large heated swimming pool of 9m x 4.5m with steps and a depth from 1m to 2.2m. Completely fenced for security and with a laser alarm system available if required. It is a salt pool with the benefit of having a very low chlorine level. The spa is an ideal area for children.
The pool heating makes this property a great choice for early or late season holidays.
Spacious, sunny terrace area with gas BBQ table and 8 chairs, 4 sunloungers and lovely views over the countryside. Ideal for evening meals.
Set in the upper part of the original beamed stables, next to the pool, is a shaded dining terrace with large table and 8 chairs overlooking the garden and vineyards. Perfect for breakfast and lunch. Spiral staircase leading down to the garden.

We have had an absolutely fantastic time staying at your beautiful house in Cruzy ! The house is magnificent, so spacious, with everything we could possibly have needed to make our time here so enjoyable.
This area of France is beautiful. For other families coming to stay with young children we wanted particularly recommend a trip to Roquebrun - our children preferred it to the beach - and eating out at Le Provence, Capestang, L'Esplanade ( Pizzeria ) in Puisserguier. We hope you will continue to let this property during summer as we would love to return. Thank you again. "
