Le Burriquito

Based just outside Castelnou up in the foothills of the Pyrenees, the kids will love this place. You can hire donkeys and ponies for the hour or the day and go hiking in the hills. With the kids safely stowed on the animals' backs, you'll be able to go much farther before they start to complain. Which parent isn't familiar with, "I'm tired, I want to go home", after only 5 minutes of walking, Donkeys are gorgeous and very intelligent - think dog, rather than horse when interacting with them.

Bois Tourne

This is a lovely workshop, also in Castelnou, where Eric Salles makes everything out of local woods - olive, juniper, planetree. Lamps, fruits, boxes and pens are just some of the objects he so lovingly carves.
